Stop two on the 2012 Asian extravaganza was the island of Koh Samui, Thailand. This part of the trip was purposely meant to be relaxing. So many of the trips Jon and I have been on recently have been focused on spending lots of time exploring new places, walking around in large, humid cities, dealing with crowds, and getting dressed up to go out to eat. The plan for Koh Samui each day was to, literally: wake up, eat, read by the pool, swim, eat, watch the sunset, and sleep. And we had an amazing home for a week to accomplish all of this: the Conrad Koh Samui resort.
The Hilton property was just completed in 2012 and features accommodation only in private villas, each with its own infinity pool and ocean views. With a bit of foresight (and luck) on Jon’s part, he was able to take advantage of a limited-time-only opportunity to use Hilton award points to book a two-story, two-bedroom villa for a week!
We really didn’t venture out of the resort, so the photo opportunities consisted of either the incredible villa or the idyllic view – not much else. I took a number of HDR shots of the villa itself and then did my best to try and capture the view we enjoyed during our once-in-a-lifetime stay.
